A visit to St. Joseph’s church, Le Havre
“St. Joseph church looms over Le Havre like an unexpected and compelling symbol of spirituality. I’ve never seen such a magnificent achievement of brutalist architecture. 700 tons of steel and 50,000 tons of concrete dominate this strange city imbued with a sort of brutal Blade Runner poetry. I can’t quite describe the thrill I felt when I stumbled upon this hauntingly beautiful sixties gem”. – Photo and text Jaja Hargreaves
