For Grace Weaver’s third exhibition at James Cohan Gallery, the American artist has created eleven larger-than-life paintings; all women, painted in mid-stride as they navigate the hazards of city streets. The figures–all knees and elbows, grasping smartphones and fanny packs–appear constrained by the obstacles and impediments of the littered landscape, if not the boundaries set by the actual edges of the canvas.
On view now until 18 December 2021 at James Cohan Gallery
