“My whole life I have done nothing but interpret my dreams of ultimate masculinity, and draw them” — TOM OF FINLAND.
Stockholm based underwear brand CDLP launched an exclusive line in collaboration with the Tom of Finland Foundation last week, paying tribute to the legend that is TOM OF FINLAND, one of the most influential artists in gay culture in the 20th century.
The limited edition Jock Strap and Tanga Brief is directly inspired by TOM OF FINLAND’s illustrations, conceiving his designs into reality for the first time.
Through his homoerotic drawings TOM OF FINLAND pushed recognition and acceptance for gay culture as he paved the way for fetish art and, even after his death, keeps inspiring the contemporary art scene.
Considering CDLP‘s value of intellectual masculinity and rebellion against the traditional the collaboration makes an exciting match, disrupting the male underwear market that has been standing still for too long.
Each purchase is accompanied by a portrait of the artist and a limited edition print, presented in a custom box featuring some of TOM’s most iconic work, making the purchase truly a collector’s choice.
The CDLP x Tom of Finland collaboration launched Thursday October 25th and is available for purchase online at CDLP and Tom of Finland Store.
