John Miller’s Suburban Past Time examines public space through artificial situations and common objects. Like so much of Miller’s career, the work is brilliant in its awkwardness and refusal to define its principles. Especially successful is the artist’s use of fake natural objects such as trees and rocks to subvert the idea of the original.
