Austin Lee’s “Psychomachia in Miami” at Miami Design District, until December 8th
A vivid exploration of human psychology, emotion, and the interplay between traditional and digital media. Melding 3D software and virtual reality with traditional airbrushing and sculpture, Lee creates a surreal and dynamic world where vibrant hues clash with uncanny imagery. Inspired by Giotto’s frescoes and the allegorical battles of the 14th-century poem “Psychomachia”, the exhibition tackles timeless themes of virtue and vice through a hypermodern lens. It’s a feast of color and feeling, where saturated tones and unexpected forms confront the tension between connection and isolation in a tech-saturated world.
