An exclusive extract from “Two Minutes Out Of Time” (2000) by Pierre Huyghe

To celebrate the new “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter” group exhibition at YARAT Contemporary Art Centre in Baku, watch this exclusive extract from Pierre Huyghe’s short film Two Minutes Out Of Time (2000). Taken from Pierre Huyghe and Phillipe Parreno’s seminal project No Ghost Just a Shell (1999-2002) the film is a continuation of the artistic reuse of an anime character. While Huyghe was drawn to his character’s seeming emptiness, the more recent works in the exhibition amplify the idea that the onscreen image is more than just a shell: fictive characters have real world effects and affects.
