BFI Film Festival highlights: The Handmaiden Trailer by Park Chan-Wook
Purple will highlight some of the best films showing at this years BFI Film Festival in London to celebrate it’s 60th Anniversary.
Watch the trailer for the erotic psychological thriller The Handmaiden, the story of a woman who is hired as a handmaiden to a Japanese heiress, but secretly is involved in a plot to defraud her. The film which comes from the brilliant South Korean film director Park Chan-Wook who directed the international success Oldboy, is an adaptation of the novel Fingersmith by Welsh writer Sarah Waters, with the setting changed from the Victorian era to Korea under Japanese colonial rule.
