A trip to Puerto Rico before hurricane Irma

A Space between Sand and Clouds

The calm before the storm. I was in Puerto Rico for the first time this summer, a couple of days after my departure Irma hit the island causing terrible damages, some places I have visited will never be the same. Puerto Rico is an universe suspended between sand and clouds, Puerto Rico is contradictions: little towns isolated into the tropical forest, uncontaminated nature and stinky suburbs, breathtaking views, cristalline waters, the kindness of the people and the economic crisis that has lasted for the last 10 years, old traditions and the American fast foods. Puerto Rico is an island where Spain, Africa, and the Caribbean culture come together. A contemporary blend incredibly unique, precious and fragile.
