Melancholia is the last movie directed by Danish director Lars Von Trier. Well-known to be a master of the unexpected and great casting, Melancholia starring Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg (who have already collaborated with him on Antichrist), Charlotte Rampling, Kiefer Sutherland, John Hurt, Brady Corbet (Mysterious Skin, Funny Games Us), the True Blood’ star Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd, and his fetish actor Udo Kier (Epidemic, Europa, Dancer in the Dark, Dogville). His latest movie’s plot centers around two sisters (Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg) finding their relationship challenged as a nearby planet threatens to collide into the Earth. Melancholia should be shown during the next Cannes film Festival, which has been a prominent support since the beginning of his career and must be his last project before the third opus named Washington which will conclude his American trilogy (Dogville, Manderlay).
