One last swim of the summer in Leigh-On-Sea

At a thirty minute journey on the train from Fenchurch Street, Leigh-On-Sea is where you’ll find the closest beach to London. Situated to the East of the city where the Thames meets the North Sea, the brackish waters are home to some of the best oysters in Britain, and as the tide flows out, diggers dredge the muddy waterbed for cockles – delicious when drizzled with vinegar and pepper and paired with a pint of Guiness.
