MICHELANGELO PISTOLETTO at LUHRING AUGUSTINE, New York

The famous Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto continues to break down the barriers between viewer and object with his new series of mirrored artworks at Luhring Augustine. Interested by themes of labor and construction, Pistoletto offers traditional compositions within his unusual presentation. For the artist, the mirror serves a formal and theoretical objective. The viewer’s reflection counteracts the static image and implicates the gallery goer in an every changing narrative. Lavoro is on view through April 28th 2012 at Luhring Augustine, 531 West 24th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
