LOPES MENDES BEACH, ILHA GRANDE, BRAZIL

Lopes Mendes beach is typically cited as amongst the world’s ten most beautiful beaches. It is a 3 kilometer stretch of powdery white sand and surfable waves, lined by coconut and almond trees, habited by monkees. In order to access it, you have to hike two and a half hours from the island’s main town of Abraao, or take a boat and hike for 20 minutes. Photo and text Caroline Gaimari
